Turkish flats spot prices edge up further as demand remains supportive

After seeing an increase last week, the Turkish flat steel spot market has recorded a further upward move, supported by improving demand and relatively limited availability. Trading conditions have remained more dynamic compared to earlier periods, with buyers showing a steadier presence in the spot market. At the same time, the continued strength of HRC and scrap prices has provided additional cost support, reinforcing the current direction of the market. Nevertheless, the pace of the increase remains gradual, as competitive pressures persist and some suppliers, particularly small and medium-sized ones, are still willing to offer discounts for larger volumes.

In this context, hot rolled sheet (HRS) prices in the spot market are now reported at $650-670/mt ex-warehouse, rising from $640-665/mt ex-warehouse last week. Higher offers are becoming more visible, although flexibility in negotiations has not fully disappeared.

Meanwhile, cold rolled sheet (CRS) prices have edged up to $740-760/mt ex-warehouse, compared to $740-755/mt ex-warehouse previously.
