Following its recent upward trend, the Turkish flat steel spot market has shown a more stable performance this week, with the earlier price increases largely losing momentum. Demand remains present in the market, though still at relatively moderate levels, while buyers continue to act cautiously and mainly focus on short-term needs. Although trading activity has not weakened significantly, the market environment is still viewed as somewhat soft overall. At the same time, the absence of fresh increases in HRC prices has reduced the upward support previously seen in the spot segment, limiting the potential for further price gains. While relatively firm scrap price trends continue to support sentiment to some extent, this has so far not been enough to create a new upward movement in the market.
Under these conditions, hot rolled sheet (HRS) prices in the Turkish spot market have largely maintained their recent levels and are currently heard at $650-670/mt ex-warehouse. While suppliers generally continue to target stable pricing, some flexibility is still observed in negotiations, particularly for larger tonnages and cash-based transactions.
A similar trend has also been observed in the cold rolled sheet (CRS) segment, where prices have remained mostly unchanged week on week, with offers still circulating at $740-760/mt ex-warehouse.
