Turkish buyers complete their import flat steel purchases

Turkish flat steel buyers have completed their import purchases and are now waiting for new price levels. With buyers concluding deals just in line with their needs, import flat steel demand remained weak in June. In addition, it has been witnessed that foreign mills have increased their focus on the Middle Eastern markets ahead of Ramadan, while their export volumes for Turkey have decreased. Meanwhile, new import price levels are likely to gain clarity in the coming week, with expectations of upward or sideways movement of prices.

In the meantime, the most recent flat steel import offers to Turkey have been as follows: Russian hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey were at $520-550/mt CFR and $640-660/mt CFR respectively, while Romanian HRC offers were standing at $560-570/mt CFR and CRC offers were at $665-670/mt CFR. Finally, the latest Ukrainian HRC offers to Turkey had been given at $500-510/mt CFR, while offers for CRC were standing at $600-605/mt CFR.
