The domestic coated and cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have mainly decreased over the week, taking into account insufficient demand and rather high stocks. However, some of the producers count on a certain rebound to be seen shortly, given increased import scrap prices and the expected consequent uptrend in the HRC segment. In the meantime, demand for HRC is quite low nowadays, which may restrict possible price rises.
Currently, hot dip galvanized coils (HDG) in Turkey are available at $780-810/mt ex-works base, while earlier many re-rollers insisted on $850/mt ex-works and above. Domestic pre-painted coils (PPGI) are on offer at $920-950/mt ex-works, down $10/mt week on week. The offers for tinplate decreased by $50/mt on the lower end over the past two weeks to $1,200-1,250/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. As the same time, local CRC prices are now at $750-780/mt ex-works, down $10-20/mt over the past week. In the import segment, South Korea has been offering at $720-730/mt CFR since the end of last week.
