Turkish re-rolling companies have increased their cold rolled coil and coated steel prices, following several weeks of relative stability in their official offers. Currently, following some sales closed in the domestic market, most suppliers are not providing their traditional discounts or have reduced the size of their discounts. The main reasons for the price increases for CRC and for coated steel in Turkey are the uptrend in the HRC segment, firm raw material prices and the positive response from buyers.
Currently, domestic HDG of 0.5 mm Z100 is offered at $750-780/mt ex-works, up from $730-755/mt ex-works seen earlier. According to sources, most deals in the past week were in the range of $740-755/mt ex-works and now the suppliers are targeting higher levels. The price increase for Turkish PPGI is even higher - from $810-840/mt to $850-880/mt ex-works and above, sources report.
Turkey’s export prices for HDG and PPGI have also risen, but by far more modest amounts, mainly due to low demand from Europe amid ongoing CBAM-related uncertainties. 0.5 mm Z100 HDG is on offer mainly at $690-715/mt FOB, versus $670-715/mt FOB earlier, while PPGI commercial grade is at $820-840/mt FOB levels, up from $800-830/mt FOB, SteelOrbis has learned.
A similar price difference is also seen in the CRC segment of the Turkish flat steel market. While the local prices have increased by $20/mt to $650-670/mt ex-works, export offers are at $630-640/mt FOB, up from $630/mt FOB on average seen last week. Some re-rollers are also aiming for $650-660/mt FOB, but admit the level is not workable.
