Turkey’s re-rolling companies continue to face rather dull demand for CR and coated steel in both domestic and export markets and, taking into account the soft HRC market, their prices are still under pressure. As a result, discounts have been provided but their size depends on suppliers’ sales portfolios.
In the CRC segment, the current 1 mm DC01 local prices are at $690-710/mt ex-works from most suppliers and the lower end of the range is considered more realistic. The offers declined by $10/mt over the past week. As for exports, Turkey’s CRC is much weaker: currently the offers are at $640-660/mt FOB, in line with last week, but $630/mt FOB level is also considered reachable from some re-rollers.
The domestic base 0.5 mm Z100 HDG prices in Turkey are officially at $800-810/mt ex-works, but, according to sources, the realistic workable levels are at $770-780/mt ex-works. HDG with Z60-70 coating is priced at $760-780/mt ex-works.
PPGI domestic prices in Turkey have slid from $940-960/mt ex-works to a more realistic level of $925-940/mt ex-works, while the level of $900/mt ex-works is also rumored to be available. As for exports, PPGI prices have fallen to $890-930/mt FOB levels, down from $940-950/mt FOB seen at the end of last week. “Offers were too high before, since overall the demand for PPGI had been relatively better and suppliers were not under much pressure,” a source told SteelOrbis.
