Shaogang Steel hikes shipbuilding plate prices

Guangdong Province-based Chinese steel producer Shaogang Iron and Steel Group has lately announced new prices for shipbuilding plate, which indicate an increase of RMB 80/mt ($12mt). As a result, in the Guangzhou market the producer's 20 mm Q235 shipbuilding plate is now sold at RMB 4,320/mt ($633/mt) and its 20 mm CCSA shipbuilding plate is priced at RMB 4,490/mt ($658/mt). Both prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective as of March 16, 2010.
