Domestic flat steel prices in Italy have decreased by €10-15/mt in the past two weeks. Currently, Italian producers' domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) base prices are at €520-530/mt ($598-610/mt) ex-works, while cold rolled coil (CRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices are at €600-610/mt ($690-702/mt) and €605-615/mt ($696-707/mt) ex-works, respectively.

The most significant decrease has been seen in HDG prices due to a recent slowdown in the European automotive sector. Meanwhile, weak consumption in end-user markets has continued to worry market players, which is why distributors and service centers have been focusing on destocking in the past few weeks.
