Prices in the local Italian flat steel market have remained mostly stable compared to last week, while cold rolled coil (CRC) prices have decreased slightly. Currently, local producers' domestic hot rolled coil (HRC) and hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices base prices still stand at €520-530/mt ($617-625/mt) and €600-615/mt ($708-726/mt), while their domestic CRC prices have moved down by €5/mt on the upper end to €605-615/mt ($714-726/mt), all ex-works. According to sources, while imports from non-EU countries have stopped due to the fear of the consequences of the ongoing EU safeguard investigation, transaction volumes are scarce also in the domestic market due to this lack of certainty.
