The recent $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) price firming within the US domestic plate market has continued to hold since our last report two weeks ago, with the most commonly reported spot price transaction range remaining neutral at $42.00-$43.00 cwt. ($926-$948/mt or $840-$860/nt) ex-Midwest mill.  Order books continue to be healthy, according to SteelOrbis sources, and lead times have now ticked into the month of August.  As with last week, mills have little to no interest in offering deals below this range.

Looking offshore, offer prices out of Turkey and Russia have also held sideways in the respective ranges of $34.00-$35.00 cwt. ($750-$772/mt or $680-$700/nt) and $33.00-$34.00 cwt. ($728-$750/mt or $660-$680/nt), both DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports.  In addition, Brazilian offers in the approximate range of $37.00-$38.00 cwt.  ($816-$838/mt or $740-$760/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf ports, are expected to be seen back in the market at some point in June.
