According to sources, some Brazilian slab producers are now offering their product, for shipment in February, in a reference price of $545/mt, against $540/mt last week, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, considering non-US destinations.

The reference price range is maintained at $530/mt to $550/mt, now with possibilities of reaching and even exceeding the upper level of the range in the short term, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

For sales to the US, the reference price is reportedly stable at $590/mt, also FOB conditions.

In November, Brazil exported 463,700 mt of slab at $669/mt, while importing 44,800 mt of the product at $574/mt, FOB conditions.
