The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries is $900/mt today, against $910/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In February, Brazil exported 89,600 mt and imported 42,100 mt of HDG against respectively 33,900 mt and 53,100 mt in January.
The exports of February were destined to the US (75,700 mt at $958/mt) and to South American countries (13,900 mt at $1,148/mt), shipped by CSN (75,800 mt at $958/mt), Usiminas (8,000 mt at $1,284/mt), and by ArcelorMittal (5,800 mt at $969/mt), all FOB conditions.
The imports were from Asia (41,100 mt, of which 38,400 mt at $629/mt from China), Europe (900 mt at $1.032/mt), and Mexico (100 mt at $1,554/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,250/mt ($1,106/mt) against BRL 6,400/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
