SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that with the beginning of October new flat steel import offers are awaited in Turkey, while demand is low. It is expected that new offers will be stable or slightly lower as compared to last month, following the stagnation observed in the market after last months’ transactions. The decrease in flat steel export prices in the global market, especially from China, is indicated as the main reason behind this expectation. It is believed that the approach of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday and other holidays in October will affect the Turkish import market in a negative way.
The latest offers to Turkey for hot rolled coils (HRC) were at $540-545/mt CFR from Ukraine, $595-605/mt CFR from Romania, $600-605/mt CFR from Slovakia, $610–615/mt CFR from Italy and at $570–575/mt CFR from Russia, while offers for cold rolled coils (CRC) were at $630–640/mt from Ukraine and at $705–710/mt CFR from Romania.
