Over the past two weeks, demand in the Turkish domestic steel plate spot market has remained weak, while local traders' prices have declined by $20/mt in the same period. Buyers expect local plate quotations to fall further in the coming period and so are only concluding purchases in line with their needs.

SteelOrbis has learned that traders' prices for stock material St37 grade steel plate in Turkey's Gebze and Eregli regions for January deliveries are as follows:

Thickness x width

Price ($/mt)

Gebze

Eregli

4-12 mm x 1,500 mm

330-335

15-40 mm x 2,000 mm

380-385

360-370

The above prices are ex-warehouse and for advance payments, exclusive of 18 percent VAT.
