Foreign steel plate suppliers in the Turkish market have chosen to mainly decrease their offers in order to attract buyers and tackle the competition. In the meantime, the local producer has been enjoying decent demand and has chosen to maintain the previous level of offers.

Plate offers from Bulgaria are nowadays at $830/mt CFR for October-November shipments, $20/mt down over the past fortnight. Romania is offering for the same lead time at the lower end of the previous range, which is $840/mt CFR. The indications from South Korea have dropped by $50/mt over two weeks to $750/mt CFR, partly owing to a return of one of the mills to the market after maintenance. China, on the other hand, has dropped its offers by $5-10/mt to $720-725/mt CFR for the shipbuilding grades.

In the domestic market, Erdemir has maintained its St.37 plate offers at $800/mt ex-works, although some buyers have reported indications $10-20/mt lower may also be available with some specific order conditions.
