Ex-Indonesia hot rolled plate booking in Taiwan

SteelOrbis has heard from market sources that a Taiwanese buyer has concluded an ex-Indonesia deal in the past week for 4,000-5,000 mt of hot rolled plate (HRP) in the range of $480/mt CFR, for December deliveries. It is reported that this sale has been concluded at a loss as the cost of the product is estimated in the range of $504-506/mt.
 
On the other hand, Japanese HRP offers to Taiwan are at $430/mt CFR, for December deliveries. Additionally, Chinese HRP offers to Taiwan are in the range of $475-477/mt CFR, for deliveries in January, while buyers in their counter-offers are seeking the price level of $470/mt CFR.
