Flats re-rolling companies in Turkey have been trying to maintain their offers for local customers stable, citing relatively firm HRC prices and upward sentiments in the import scrap segment. However, the demand for their products has remained rather slow and so some discounts are being provided during negotiations. Most volumes are offered for February deliveries and some limited lots are still available for January deliveries, sources report.
In the coated steel segment, Turkey’s local 0.5 mm Z100 HDG prices are now at $745-760/mt ex-works levels, with $765/mt ex-works also being offered by some producers. However, some official offers are at $770-780/mt ex-works still, but discounts of around two percent are being provided. Export offers for the same HDG specifications have been reported at $680-710/mt FOB for February shipments and depending on the supplier and its export position.
Turkey’s domestic commercial PPGI is priced at $850-870/mt ex-works, while Z100 material, according to sources, is at around $870-900/mt ex-works, but again the discounts are possible. PPGI export price levels are evaluated at $830-860/mt FOB for commercial material but, according to sources, many re-rollers are not active in exports, specifically in the PPGI segment.
Current domestic tin plate prices in Turkey, according to sources, are at $960-970/mt ex-works levels for February deliveries.
Local 1 mm DC01 CRC prices in Turkey have settled at $645-660/mt ex-works depending on the supplier, down from $650-670/mt ex-works at the end of December. Export offers for Turkish CRC have been mainly reported at $630-645/mt FOB levels for February shipments, but some $650-655/mt FOB indications are also heard, though they are not considered workable at the moment, SteelOrbis understands.
