Chinese steel plate market receives support from semi-finished prices

In the week ending March 16, steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market have indicated minor decreases, while transaction activity in the market has continued to be slack. Average steel plate prices in China can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

Demand in the local Chinese steel plate market has not seen any significant upturn, while traders' confidence has improved since last Thursday on the back of rising semi-finished steel prices. Supplies arriving in the market have been limited, making traders less willing to lower their sales prices. As for the coming week, it is expected that steel plate prices in the Chinese domestic market will just indicate slight fluctuations.
