During the week ending October 25, average Chinese flat steel export prices have moved on a decreasing trend for most flat resources. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $540-555/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $600-610/mt FOB.
Due to the weakness of domestic flat steel demand, Chinese steelmakers have reduced their export prices to attract attention from overseas buyers. At the same time, the continuous depreciation in the Chinese currency has also exerted a negative impact on Chinese flat steel export quotations. It is thought that flat steel export prices from China will likely edge down further in the coming week.
