Ex-China flat export offer prices see downtrend

During the week ending September 10, Chinese export offers for flat steel products have continued to move downwards. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $290-300/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $335-345/mt FOB.

During the given week, demand from Asian users has remained slack. Meanwhile, HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market have seen declines, resulting in a downtrend in HRC export offer prices. Since current offer prices for flat steel resources have hit record new low since May 2009, Chinese flat steel products are expected to move on a stable trend in the coming week.
