During the week ending January 24, average Chinese flat steel export offer prices have mostly edged up. At present, export offers for boron-added 5.75 mm hot rolled coil (HRC) given by Chinese suppliers are at $480-510/mt FOB, while export offers for 1.0 mm cold rolled coil (CRC) given by Chinese suppliers are in the range of $525-545/mt FOB.
Flat steel product export prices from China still have solid support from the cost side. Meanwhile, the uptrend in the Chinese domestic HRC market has also boosted export prices. Given the approach of the Chinese New Year holiday, it is thought that flat steel product export prices from China will likely move on a stable trend in the coming week.
