AK Steel announced Friday that they will increase base prices for all 200, 300 and 400 series flat rolled
stainless steel products. The increase will go into effect for all orders shipped after May 6, 2013, and will be achieved by reducing the functional discount of two percentage points for hot rolled and cold rolled non-automotive products. In addition, a $0.03 per-pound base price increase for automotive exhaust grades will take effect with shipments on June 3, 2013.
