West Chester, Ohio-based steelmaker AK Steel began advising its customers Tuesday that a $430/nt surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in March 2011.
AK Steel's surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the January 2011 purchase cost used to determine the March 2011 surcharges.
