West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel announced Monday that a $435/net ton (nt) surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in June 2011. Electrical steel surcharges were $390/nt for May shipments according to AK Steel.
AK Steel's surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the April 2011 purchase cost used to determine June 2011 surcharges.
