AK Steel increasing spot prices $30/nt in February

Middletown, Ohio-based AK Steel announced Wednesday that it will increase spot prices for its carbon steel products by $30 /nt for all new orders accepted for shipment on February 1, 2008 and later.

The flat rolled steelmaker said it will increase their prices for carbon steel because of increased demand for these products, as well as to recover higher steelmaking input costs.

AK Steel produces flat rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular products for automotive, construction and manufacturing markets.
