Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (ZMZ), a subsidiary of the Russian steel producer ESTAR Holding, has announced its plans to recommission furnace No.10 at its EAF workshop No.2 on July 18.

The furnace was shut down 15 years ago due to low demand for steel at the time.

The restart of the furnace is the final stage of ZMZ's investment program worth Ruble 100 million ($4.3 million) directed at the expansion of the steelmaking capacity of EAF workshop No.2.

With the restart of the furnace, EAF workshop No.2's annual steel production capacity will be increased by 25 percent to 100,000 mt.
