Zenith Steel sees 5.94 percent rise in crude steel output in 2014

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Zenith Steel has announced that in 2014 it produced 9.0023 million mt of pig iron, 9.0104 million mt of crude steel and 8.9001 million mt of finished steel, up 4.96 percent, 5.94 percent and 5.71 percent year on year, respectively, while it achieved an operating revenue of RMB 105.2 billion ($17.2 billion), up 0.11 percent year on year.

As for 2015, Zenith aims to produce 10.20 million mt of pig iron, 9.40 million mt of crude steel and 9.02 million mt of finished steel, while it is targeting an operating revenue of RMB 110 billion ($17.9 billion) for the year.

Meanwhile, starting from 2001 when Zenith Steel was established, the company has invested more than RMB 5 billion in environmental protection, with the investment figure expected to reach RMB 8 billion ($1.3 billion) by 2016.
