Hubei Province-based Chinese steel manufacturer Xinye Special Steel has commissioned the first stage of its new capacity expansion project, according to local newspaper Huangshi Daily.
The overall new project, with a total investment of RMB 1.6 billion ($251 million), has a designed annual production capacity of 1.8 million mt of seamless steel pipe. After it is put into production, its annual output value is expected to exceed RMB 20 billion ($3.1 billion). With the project in question, Xinye Special Steel will become the fifth largest seamless steel pipe producer in China.
