On July 6, Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced its ex-factory prices for August. The details are as follows:
1. Silicon steel
Prices of 30Q140 oriented silicon steel increased RMB 300/mt ($40/mt), while they decreased RMB 145/mt ($19/mt) for 50WW700 non-oriented silicon steel.
2. HR coils
Prices of common carbon steel decreased RMB 200/mt ($26/mt). After the changes, the price of 2.75 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 3,760/mt ($490/mt), while that of 5.75 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 3,610/mt ($471/mt).
3. CR coils
Prices of CRC decreased RMB 200/mt ($26/mt). As a result, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled sheet is now at RMB 4,060/mt ($529/mt).
4. HDG
Prices decreased RMB 500/mt ($65/mt).
5. Tinplate
Tinplate prices decreased RMB 300/mt ($40).
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of July 7, 2007.
