Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (WISCO) has announced the signing in Beijing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Chinese petroleum and petrochemical giant China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group).

The two companies have a long-standing cooperation, with production of WISCO given priority by Sinopec Group in the petroleum and petrochemical fields, especially in line with the construction of China's West-East Natural Gas Transmission Project. WISCO has accordingly become Sinopec Group's main strategic supplier of finished steel products.
