The second largest Russian producer of grain-oriented electrical steel, Verkh-Isetsky Iron and Steel Works (VIZ-Stal), plans to increase its production by 10 percent to 200,000 metric tons in 2006. In particular, VIZ-Stal, which was bought by Russian mill Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) in August of the current year, intends to produce 180,000 metric tons of transformer steel and 20,000 metric tons of dynamo steel. The mill does not intend to raise its production capacities further in 2007, VIZ-Stal representatives stated.
