Vietnamese steelmaker Vnsteel has announced that it has officially inaugurated a new warehouse facility in Khanh Hoa province, marking its return to the South Central Vietnam market. The project forms part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its nationwide logistics and distribution network.
Strategic focus on growing South Central region
The new facility is located in one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing regions for infrastructure, urban development, and tourism investment. According to the company, the warehouse will improve its ability to supply distributors, contractors, and construction projects across the South Central region.
Beyond serving as a storage center, the Khanh Hoa facility is intended to operate as a strategic regional logistics hub. The company expects the project to improve customer service, shorten delivery times, and strengthen competitiveness in Vietnam’s domestic steel market.
Vnsteel emphasized that logistics infrastructure is becoming increasingly important in the steel sector due to large shipment volumes and high transportation costs. The company believes integrated logistics capabilities are essential for improving operational efficiency and market responsiveness.
Extensive production and port infrastructure
Vnsteel currently operates a steel melting and rolling mill with a designed annual capacity of 500,000 mt, alongside production facilities with combined capacity exceeding 1 million mt per year. The company also operates an integrated warehousing and deep-water port system capable of handling vessels of up to 50,000 dwt.
According to the company, combining port infrastructure, production facilities, and regional warehouses into a unified logistics chain helps optimize operating costs and improve delivery efficiency. Vnsteel stated that this integrated approach is expected to strengthen its competitiveness as steel demand in Vietnam continues to recover.
