France-based tube and pipe producer Vallourec has announced that it will unveil its e-commerce portal specially designed for its industry segment at the international trade fair for the tube and pipe industry to be held in Düsseldorf on April 4-8.

The e-commerce platform will initially serve the German market, during its pilot phase. As a special feature, the portal will offer a comprehensive digital glossary of technical terms covering steel tubes and pipes, as well as useful design calculation tools for diverse applications. The online store will provide the company’s customers with shorter delivery times so that they can keep their stock levels much lower, while the first available products in the online store will be mechanical bars with enhanced machining and sizing properties.

Vallourec also stated that it uses digitalization to make processes between sales, production and logistics faster and more direct for the benefit of its trading partners and customers.
