Minas Gerais state environment regulator, Semad, has allowed Vale to use the Córrego do Feijão mine open pit to deposit its iron ore waste, following the Brumadinho disaster, the company said.

Vale said it will use trucks to transport the waste to the pit at its Córrego do Feijão mine.

Vale didn’t disclose how much waste the pit can receive. The miner said the waste has already been inspected by officials.
