The US International Trade Administration (ITA) has announced that it has initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation and a countervailing duty (CVD) investigation against imports of stainless steel flanges from China and India.

The investigation was launched upon the complaint lodged by Coalition of American Flange Producers and its individual members; Core Pipe Products, Inc. and Maass Flange Corporation.

According to ITA’s statement, in 2016, imports of stainless steel flanges from China and India were valued at an estimated $16.3 million and $32.1 million, respectively.

The alleged dumping margins range between 99.23 and 257.11 percent for China and 78.49 and 145.25 percent for India, while the estimated subsidy margins are above de minimis for the two countries.

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) is scheduled to make its preliminary injury determinations on or before October 2 this year.

The products in question currently fall under Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) 7307.21.1000 and 7307.21.5000.
