US Senators sign letter to maintain S201 tariffs

Senators from 18 states of the US sent this week a letter to the US President expressing their support for the S201 safeguard program implemented in March 2002 on steel imports into the country. The Senators stated their commitment to the program and their full support to its continuance of the originally intended 3-year term. The restructuring of the US steel industry has not yet completed accoring to the Senators and therefore the preservation and continuance of the tariffs have strict importance.
