The probe is preliminary, the media report said. SEC took the decision after meeting with Brazilian federal prosecutors, the Ministerio Publico Federal, the media report said.

The Brumadinho disaster killed over 250 people in January this year. The media report did not disclose the nature of the alleged SEC investigation.
