According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 37,815 mt in February 2023, up 36.9 percent from January but down 8.5 percent from February 2022. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $37.9 million in February, compared to $29.4 million in the previous month and $45.9 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in February with 27,866 mt, compared to 18,581 mt in January and 33,114 mt in February 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 9,404 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US plates in coil exports in February.
