According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 47,028 mt in June 2023, up 18.2 percent from May and up 32.3 percent from June 2022. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $48.7 million in June, compared to $42.6 million in the previous month and $37.9 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in June with 31,476 mt, compared to 27,277 mt in May and 24,762 mt in June 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 15,511 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US plates in coil exports in June.
