According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 38,611 mt in July 2023, down 17.9 percent from June and down 8.0 percent from July 2022. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $43.4 million in July, compared to $48.7 million in the previous month and $46.8 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in July with 22,079 mt, compared to 31,476 mt in June and 24,868 mt in July 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 16,406 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US plates in coil exports in July.
