US mills to increase prices

US steel mills International Steel Group (ISG), Nucor Corporation and US Steel will increase their prices effective for shipments as of January, 2005. According to the reports, ISG and Nucor Corp announced that they will increase prices of their plate products by $30/nt to $60/nt effective shipments as of January, 2005. On the other hand, US Steel plans to increase transaction price of tin-mill products by 8% effective for shipments as of January 2, 2005. Moreover, the company plans to increase the surcharge on subject products by $15/t to $85/t effective for shipments as of same date. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, ISG announced its November raw material surcharge as $165/nt. Nucor's raw material surcharge on special bar products will increase by $10/nt to $260/nt effective for shipments as of December 1, 2004.
