US mechanical tubing imports up 21.1 percent in July

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 58,074 mt in July 2023, up 21.1 percent from June and up 8.9 percent from July 2022 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $115.9 million in July 2023, compared to $91.9 million in June and $113.1 million in July 2022.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in July, with 17,206 mt, compared to 15,135 mt in June and 18,175 in July 2022. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in July include Canada, with 8,296 mt; Germany, with 4,424 mt; India, with 3,389 mt; and Romania, with 1,990 mt.
