US mechanical tubing imports up 12.3 percent in November

According to delayed final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 50,164 mt in November 2018, up 12.3 percent from October and up 16.8 percent from November 2017 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $72.1 million in November 2018, compared to $66.4 million in the previous month and $63.1 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in November, with 8,466 mt, compared to 8,148 mt in October and 11,039 mt in November 2017. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in November include Canada with 6,947 mt; Germany, with 4,423 mt; Romania, with 4,408 mt; and China, with 4,027 mt.
