On March 13, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) announced its final determination regarding welded
stainless steel pressure
pipe from
China.
On the basis of the record developed in the subject investigations, the ITC determined that the industry in the
US was materially injured by reason of imports from
China of welded
stainless steel pressure
pipe, provided for in subheadings 7306.40.50 and 7306.40.10 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, that had been found by the Department of Commerce (DOC) to be subsidized by
China and sold in the United States at less than fair value (LTFV).
The Commission instituted these investigations effective January 30, 2008, following receipt of a petition filed with the ITC and the DOC by Bristol Metals (Bristol, TN), Felker Brothers Corp. (Marshfield, WI),
Marcegaglia USA, Inc. (Munhall, PA), Outokumpu
Stainless Pipe, Inc. (Schaumburg, IL), and The United Steel Workers (Pittsburgh, PA).
