US iron ore production in November last year amounted to 4.03 million mt, increasing by 24.4 percent compared to October and down by 8.4 percent year on year, according to figures from the Mineral Industry Survey released by the US Geological Survey (USGS). Meanwhile, US iron ore export shipments in November last year totaled 4.59 million mt, rising by 17.7 percent compared to the previous month and declining by 6.5 percent compared to November 2018.
In the January- November period of last year, US iron ore production totaled 42.9 million mt, falling by 4.7 percent compared to the same period of 2018, while US iron ore export shipments amounted to 42.7 million mt, down by 3.2 percent year on year.
