According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of hot dip galvanized sheets totaled 71,861 mt in February this year, down 26.6 percent from January and down 54.2 percent from February 2025. By value, HDG imports totaled $70.84 million in February 2025, compared to $98.09 million in the previous month and $181.33 million in the same month of 2025.
The US imported the most HDG from Canada in February with 39,912 mt, compared to 44,455 mt in January and 66,604 mt in February 2025. Other top sources of imported HDG in February include South Korea with 9,972 mt, Austria with 4,755 mt and Germany with 3,018 mt.
