US DOC issues preliminary AD review results for stainless steel bar from India

On March 15, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of its antidumping duty (AD) administrative review for stainless steel bar from India.

As a result of its administrative review covering February 1, 2008, through January 31, 2009, the US DOC has come to the conclusion that the subject merchandise was sold at prices less than normal value in the US. Accordingly, the institution determined dumping margins of zero percent and 5.54 percent for Ambica Steels Limited and Venus Wire Industries Pvt. Ltd respectively.

Imports of steel plate are currently classified in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under subheadings 7222.11.00.05, 7222.11.00.50, 7222.19.00.05, 7222.19.00.50, 7222.20.00.05, 7222.20.00.45, 7222.20.00.75, and 7222.30.00.00

Final results of the review are to be issued no later than 120 days from the publication date of the preliminary results.
