US cut-length plate exports up 20.4 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 89,779 mt in March 2020, up 20.4 percent from February and up 72.9 percent from March 2019 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $82.4 million in March, compared to $72.8 million in the previous month and $61.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in March with 46,736 mt, compared to 39,223 mt in February and 31,171 mt in March 2019. Other top destinations included Canada, with 38,758 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in March.
