US cut-length plate exports drop 20.2 percent in October

US exports of cut-length plate totaled 67,306 mt in October, down 20.2 percent from September and down 21.1 percent from October 2015 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $62.5 million in October, down 18.4 percent month-on-month and down 16.9 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in October, with 37,574 mt, compared to 41,059 mt in September and 33,555 mt in October 2015. Other top destinations included Canada, with 28,271 mt compared to 40,570 mt in September and 47,535 mt in October 2015. There were no other notable destinations for US export cut-length plate with tonnage levels surpassing 1,000 mt.
