According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 78,394 mt in April 2018, down 2.4 percent from March but up 6.8 percent from April 2017 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $82.1 million in April, compared to $82.5 million in the previous month and $70.3 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Canada in April with 41,083 mt, compared to 39,839 mt in March and 40,880 mt in April 2017. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 31,415 mt; and Sweden, with 2,350 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US cut-length plate exports in April.
